National Diabetes Conference – Stirling

This national diabetes conference will offer delegates a chance to shape the vision for diabetes care in Scotland. Through focussed, interactive workshops it will build on the work of the Scottish Government’s Diabetes Improvement Plan (DIP) 2014 and delegates will be part of creating the future plans for delivering the goals of the DIP and providing high quality, person centred care, consistently across Scotland.

This symposium is open to any health care professional or service manager involved with the delivery of diabetes care in both primary and secondary care, patient representatives and the third sector.

Diabetes Improvement Plan: Speed updates

There will be speed updates from all the key areas of the Diabetes Improvement Plan including:

  • Diabetes and Pregnancy
  • Diabetes Prevention

WORKSHOPS

During these workshop sessions delegates will work with facilitators, in cross functional groups to create a vision for diabetes care in the future. We will consider what pathways of care may look like for those with Type 1 diabetes, Type 2 Diabetes, In-patient care for those with diabetes and also key speciality areas such as pregnancy and foot disease. We will also consider the role that data and AI may play in improving diabetes care in the future.
